Newline makes moves to new home in Halesowen

A software development business is to create new jobs after moving to a new home in Halesowen.

Newline Computing Systems has bought the long leasehold on the last remaining unit on St Modwen’s Coombs Wood Business Park.

The company, which was formed 28 years ago, moved from Applewood Grove, Cradley Heath to the 750sq ft unit on September 8 after renovating the premises. Managing director Neil Cartwright, who has worked for the business for 19 years and bought it six years ago, said the move was to enable the business to grow. “We currently have three staff and we are looking to take on two more over the next year,” he added.

Newline, which originally started at Erdington, Birmingham, and had been at Cradley Heath for the last five years, supplies bespoke IT solutions to businesses with warehouses that need stock management systems.

“Our main market is the automotive sector and customers include DHL and UEES. We also currently have bids in with Jaguar Land Rover and BMW. We are also strong within other market sectors and have a presence in Europe” added Mr Cartwright.
